Another bite of schnibbles book review

The greatest thing about my job is that I get to work on projects in advance of their release date to the world. The bad thing about that is sometimes I don't have much to blog about. Of course, this is no excuse for my lack of posts. I am also lucky because I happen to have a neighbor across the hall from me that is kind enough to show me all the new books and patterns streaming in. So to win back my loyal readers and anyone else that is bored to death,  I am going to do a book review for the next several days starting with Carrie Nelson of Miss Rosie's. Carrie's newest book from That Patchwork Place has hit the stands. Carrie is such a talented wordsmith. Every project has a creative name and an entire story to go along with it. The wealth of information this one woman retains in her brain is amazing.  Maybe she can come up with another word for amazing so all the dancers on dancing with the stars will have something else to say.
I would certainly want to be on her team during Trivia night.



Ruby by Bonnie and Camille  is shipping to stores now so I thought I would show you the quilt made from a previous line of their fabrics. This quilt was made by an associate of mine Debbie Outlaw. (remember the chocolate cake in my birthday post?)
 Not to brag but I also have a quilt in the book. (THANK YOU CARRIE!)
And I need to mention that Alicia Keys from Heirloom quilting did a super job quilting mine. Check out her work if you are looking for a machine quilter.

    Just got Carrie's new book, and wanted to say your quilt is beautiful! As for the book, I love everything about it. It's hard to believe she can come up with so many ways to use stacks of squares.

    I am addicted to Schnibbles! So far the addiction is only in acquiring the patterns, but soon I hope to actually start on one--if I could only decide which one.

    I made a Schnibbles quilt for my niece. It was supposed to be 31" square, but, I made it HUGH! I needed a bed quilt, not a wall hanging. It was the first time I'd used charm squares. It was a fun quilt. Thanks.

    I ordered this book and recieved it yesterday. Already I love this book,a lot of good information. The patterns are great. BUT I would love to win one to give as a Birthday present and pay it forward. Your pattern in it is my favorite, probably the first one I will make. Thanks

    Wow I wish I could see things ahead of time like that. I am a new quilter, and the second pattern I bought was Schnibbles X-Rated. I love all the ones I see and look at the Schnibbles parade on a couple of blogs each month. This would be an amazing thing to win - so thank you for the chance.

    For some reason the word schnibble reminds me of Will Smith's song "Gettin' Jiggy with it". Na na na na na na gettin schnibbly with it. I hear it in my head now, I could definitely put this book to good use! ;)

    Lissa, I just had to tell you that I received my book today. I sat in front of the post office and looked through the entire book. Of course, after I opened it, what other choice was there? My problem started with the first quilt...I thought, this is the first one I will make, then the second quilt, same thing and so on, including your quilt "Lincoln", it's so great!!! Now I'm just wondering where to actually begin, LOL. But I got carried away (sorry), what I'm really writing to say is thank you again, so much. I still can't believe I won this book and can now cross sit off my 'To buy when I have the $$' list. Big, Happy, Hugs...
